Understand controls of energy balance and the pathophysiologic mechanisms that lead to obesity
Understand the consequences of uncontrolled obesity
Monitor life factors for the development of obesity at each stage of life
Screen and diagnose patients for obesity
Counsel patients about lifestyle factors that decrease the risk of obesity
Treat obesity and its associated comorbid conditions and properly refer patients
