Vulvar Disorders Description
|
This monograph is designed to enable obstetricians-gynecologists to:
- Understand the pathophysiology and clinical approaches to the evaluation, management, and prevention of both frequently and infrequently recognized vulvovaginal disorders
- Recognize and monitor risk factors for both the development of vulvar disorders and the exacerbation of underlying vulvar disease
- Counsel patients on prevention strategies to decrease the risk of common vulvovaginal disorders
- Screen and evaluate patients for common vulvar disorders and recognize less frequently diagnosed conditions
- Recognize systemic conditions that can present as vulvar disorders
- Treat patients with both uncomplicated and complicated vulvar disorders and make appropriate referrals when indicated
