- Recognize early signs of vision abnormalities
- Evaluate vision abnormalities and initiate management of minor conditions
- Counsel patients about good vision health and corrective techniques
- Identify factors that can pose a risk to vision and intervene accordingly
- Recognize when it is necessary to refer patients to a vision specialist
Updated information in this monograph includes the most current American Diabetes Association recommendations for patient care.
