This CD ROM is intended as supplemental material inadequately convered in residency programs and to meet the demand for information on this topic. Content centers upon finding the origin of conditions related to pelvic floor dysfunction and on treating such conditions. Program content presumes a background as a practicing physician, but does not require knowledge specific to urogynecology. Content of this program provides a generalist obstetrician and gynecologist with an important learning tool to update their knowledge and supplements existing material taught in residency programs.
Participants who complete this program will be able to:
- Determine the origin or cause of an array of conditions related to pelvic floor dysfunction
- Utilize appropriate diagnostic procedures for evaluating pelvic floor dysfunction encountered in office practice
- Recommend appropriate courses of treatment for a variety of urogynecologic conditions
- Identify risk factors related to pelvic floor dysfunction and discuss preventive measures that patients can take
