Mood and Anxiety Disorders Description

Increase awareness about the biochemical basis of mood disorders (depression) and anxiety
Monitor risk factors for these disorders across the life span in women
Screen and diagnose patients with major depressive disorder and other mood disorders
Screen and diagnose patients with anxiety disorders
Evaluate patients with mood and anxiety disorders and initiate a management plan
Treat patients with uncomplicated mood and anxiety disorders and refer patients with more complicated cases

Updated information in this monograph includes the most current American Diabetes Association recommendations for patient care.
