Ob-Gyns can play a pivotal role in the management of hypertension, according to Clinical Updates in Women's Health Care, Hypertension, the latest in Clinical Updates series.
The monograph enables ob-gyns to:
- Understand the pathophysiologic mechanisms that contribute to hypertension and cardiovascular disease
- Monitor risk factors for hypertension and determine the need for intervention
- Counsel patients about lifestyle factors that lower the risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease
- Define the new classification that includes a hypertension category as recommended by the National High Blood Pressure Education Program
- Screen patients for hypertension
- Evaluate patients who have hypertension and initiate management
- Treat the early stages of hypertension
- Identify indications for referral of patients with hypertension
Self-assessment questions are included at the end of each monograph. 5 CME credits will be awarded per issue.
