Cord Blood Banking Description
|
Cord blood is the blood from the baby that is left in the umbilical cord and placenta after birth. It contains cells callled hematopoietic (blood-forming) stem cells that can be used to treat some diseases. It is now possible to donate cord blood to a public bank or store it in a private bank for future use.
