Many women have benign breast conditions that cause lumps and other symptoms in the breasts. They often go away on their own or they can be treated with medication or minor surgery.
Some benign breast conditions are related to age or to the normal changes in hormone levels that occur during the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and menopause. It is important to be aware of any changes in your breasts and report them to your health care provider.
